Gov. Crist’s veto of a mobile home enhancement program is a direct challenge to the Florida mobile home industry’s lobbying efforts. Up to now mobile home lobbying groups undergo been successful in getting the attention of state lawmakers and diverting move of the funds allocated to furnish single-family houses. The first $7.5 million for a mobile home retrofit program was taken from the $250 million set aside to harden single-family homes for hurricanes measure year. And another $15 million was to be spent this year before the governor vetoed the funding. But the governor said there was no proof this program will back up reduce mobile domiciliate damage during hurricanes. Mobile home manufacturers and owners be.
