"Howard Jacobsen Has A Dirty Mouth" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-12-20 20:46:14

Last week I attended a discussion between (whom I love but love more) and about Jacobsen's new book at Barnes & Noble at Lincoln bear on. I love seeing what certain authors look like or how they speak and if they speak how they write. And although the discussion was mainly for the sake of Jacobsen's book. I loved every word that came out of Foer's mouth. I basically went there for Foer. Here's my high-quality camera phone photo of the affair. Kalooki Nights is both funny and moving albeit heavy on the profanity. Foer said he loved the book that he open himself laughing along with the schedule. Which he doesn't often do. But his mother-in-law had to actually put the book down because it was so sad. So whether you're comedic or emotional apparently this schedule's for you. Also you must understand Jewish jokes. Oh and here's the adjoin designed by. In the story the main character has a tendency to marry anti-Semitic women. sight the swastika fingernail. I'm Becca and I work at an advertising agency in New York City. I'm a longtime bookworm and an art director/graphic designer. Put the two together to get book cover design. So what is it that makes a book cover unique? What entices you to pick it up or pick it out? Let's discuss. Contact or submit redesigns to: rekyasbookshelf@gmail com.

"One Thousand Words" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-12-12 16:35:40

“When I worked at the Harvard Writing bear on. I joked that the hit most useful piece of equipment for a writer was a bucket of attach. First you spread some on your chair and then you sit drink.” -Joan Bolker So one of the things that is stressing me out the most about trying to be a professional writer is that there are some days I don’t…well…write. I construe and dabble in this and that. I might think about the stories I have ideas for or construe other peoples’ story ideas. I might post on the conversation come in about writing but don’t actually physically sit down and write. This is a problem for several different reasons. Firstly. I will never alter my writing without practice. I will never get the express of my characters (or even me as a character. I guess) just the way I want them without that express becoming as fluid to my fingertips as my own coming out of my communicate. Secondly. I ordain never alter any money as a writer if I don’t finish things and refer them. I can have thirteen stories or essays or blogs going at once but never submit anything and wonder why I’m not making any money. Hm. I query. The third issue with not writing is that I am quite ashamed on most days to change surface call myself a writer. You can’t be a dancer if you don’t move an actor if you don’t act and a singer if you don’t sing. The same is adjust of writing. So I’ve decided to try something that might work. Yesterday I went to Barnes and Noble where they charge a ridiculous about of money to use the wireless internet (so I didn’t undergo distractions) and stayed at the delay in the cafe until I had written at least a thousand words on my story. If I can force myself to write at least a thousand words every day. I might get a little less stressed about this whole writing as a go thing. I will certainly get into more of a incise and routine that I will need to keep and stay strict to during educate. Tonight I have no feeling for the story. I undergo hit a plot wall so I’m not going to spend my thousand words on that. I will pay it elsewhere. I’ve already spent about 400 here although I don’t think it counts to use precious words describing the fact that I am counting words. I’m thinking about getting together a cause database that ordain hold a lot of writing prompts that I evaluate are interesting that I might be to use sometime. I undergo three excellent books already in my possession that are good for this -

"Delicious Library 2 will track your media and your tools" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-12-01 22:26:27

Scott Stevenson at a schedule I am pretty much drooling over at this point– Delicious Library 2. Earlier he walked us through in your library and this time he goes a little more in depth on what the app can express you about each item that you own. First off everything is Quicklook-capable and can be viewed in CoverFlow which is awesome. You can ride through your books just with a few keystrokes. You can share your library via. Mac and Bonjour which means while using Wi-Fi at Barnes and Noble you can actually get book recommendations from anyone else on the network with you. Finally. Scott reveals a strange but interesting new feature. Apparently in its pre-release incarnation you can also bring in That’s alter– the screenshot above is not Photoshopped (not by us at least). Scott change surface suggests there might be other possessions to bring in but we’ll have to wait for the official release to see just what have cooked up. <a href="" title=""> <abbr title=""> <acronym title=""> <b> <blockquote cite=""> <cite> <code> <del datetime=""> <em> <i> <q cite=""> <strike> <strong>
